Jake’s significant experiences abroad have led him to look at international living as the most valuable way to challenge himself while getting a more accurate view of the world. Australia and New Zealand laid a foundation for his international lifestyle, and, most recently, China has allowed him to dig into Chinese language, education and culture.

Over the past couple of years, Jake’s posts have moved away from the travel-story variety and The Word Is: Go has become a scratchpad for his insights and cultural tidbits — some more abstract than others, including some Student Work from Jake’s university classes.

In addition to blogging, teaching and trying to become the most famous of all the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, Jake also takes pictures.
